Class Visits
School Tour or Tour with a Gallery Activity
Explore the current exhibitions with a Museum docent who will emphasize
careful observation and introduce discussion themes to help your students
develop visual and analytical skills. School tours typically last an hour
and fifteen minutes, and can be tailored (with advance notice) to focus
on a particular theme or to incorporate a gallery game or writing
exercise.
School Tour and Activity in the Education Center
Adding an education center activity to your school tour provides your
students with an opportunity to experience hands-on many of the materials
and processes employed by the contemporary artists on display. The
education center can accommodate 30 students.
Customized Curriculum Connections
Customized Curriculum
Connections offers teachers a way to integrate classroom projects with a
featured artist or exhibition theme, by building in valuable one-on-one
time with Museum education staff to specially plan and develop materials
in advance of your visit.
Pre-K and Kindergarten
The Aldrich provides an experience that combines the processes of looking
at and making art for these new art viewers. Teachers can call the Museum
to set up an exhibition-specific project in our galleries.
