Class Visits

School Tour
Explore the current exhibitions with a Museum docent who will emphasize careful observation and introduce discussion themes to help your students develop visual and analytical skills. School tours typically last an hour, and can be tailored (with advance notice) to focus on a particular theme or to incorporate a gallery game or writing exercise.

School Tour and Activity in the Education Center
Adding an education center activity to your school tour provides your students with an opportunity to experience hands-on many of the materials and processes employed by the contemporary artists on display. The education center can accommodate 30 students.

Pre-K and Kindergarten
The Aldrich provides an experience for young art-viewers that combines the processes of looking at and making art. Teachers can work with a Museum educator to determine the exhibition that would best suit the group, based on their interests or their curriculum. A one-hour visit can include discussion of the exhibition, reading of a storybook that relates to the artwork, and an exhibition-related hands-on activity.
