Michael De Feo created an installation of hand-painted hammerhead sharks and a scuba diver on the exterior of The Aldrich in December 2005.  His work was also seen in Radius: Emerging Artists from Connecticut and Southeastern New York (2005).

However, De Feo is best known for his street art, which is recognized and respected around the world. His ubiquitous flower image has been seen across the US and around the world in cities such as Paris, Munich, Leipzig, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Geneva.  He recalls the creation of the image, “Way back in 1992 or so, while I was attending the School of Visual Arts in New York City, I came up with a flower design while brainstorming with a fat brush, a lot of paper, and black paint.  I immediately liked one of the flower images and made a silkscreen of it.  I’ve always enjoyed printmaking and the ability it gives you to create as any copies as you want.  I printed hundreds of them before I decided to actually hang them on various street surfaces, ranging from newspaper dispensers to city buses.  It just seemed to make sense and it felt really good.  Over the years, I’ve glued thousands of flowers in NYC's streets.  I've also painted murals; and from then on, the project has traversed the globe.”
