Joyce Stillman-Myers
Winerack, 1975
Oil on canvas
50 x 72 inches
As you relax on your sofa and gaze at your new Joyce Stillman-Myers painting, you will be inspired to toast our founder, Larry Aldrich. This painting was bequeathed to the Museum by Mr. Aldrich for just this purpose—to benefit the exhibition fund and help to promote the work of emerging artists. Joyce Stillman-Myers was born in New York City in 1943 and is known for her still-life paintings of everyday objects. She earned a BA in anthropology from New York University and an MFA in art from Long Island University. She has been professor of painting at Towson University and professor of art history at Tompkins Community College, in addition to running a private instruction studio. It will be a true Aldrich Experience to mix up a pitcher of martinis and enjoy it in front of a painting that Mr. Aldrich loved.
