Foreword by Richard Klein, exhibitions director, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum; features a conversation between Elizabeth Peyton and artist Rirkrit Tiravanija.

Throughout Peyton's twenty-year career, the artist has been primarily known as a painter of intimate portraits. During this period, however, she has consistently taken photographs of people, at first tentatively, but then with a growing conscious assertion. This book, and The Aldrich's exhibition that it is based on, is the first to exclusively represent Peyton's photography, bringing together photographs taken by the artist from 1994 to the present. The work focuses on artists, close friends, and acquaintances who have played a meaningful role in Peyton's life.
